1933 French Battenberg Lace Work in Progress – Textile Time Capsule
€169.00
A rare and breathtaking piece of French history. This hand-worked lace panel was paused mid-stitch on June 8, 1933 and has remained "sleeping" for over 90 years. Found exactly as it was left, the original needle is still tucked into the thread where the lacemaker last worked.
Pinned to its original brown paper pattern (backed with a French newspaper from 1933), this is a museum-quality snapshot of domestic life and craftsmanship. To preserve its incredible provenance, I am shipping this piece folded exactly as found.
